Competitive skating background and international expertise

Valeriya grew up training on the ice in Russia for 10 years, passing Russian testing equivalents to the Senior Skating Skills Test and Senior Free Skate test. She began coaching at the age of 16 and now brings over 15 years of professional coaching experience to skaters in Ontario, California. Holding a B.A. in Linguistics and Education, Valeriya connects seamlessly with students and families from diverse backgrounds and fluently speaks English, Russian, and Spanish.

Specializing in jumps, spins, and choreography, Valeriya strongly believes that a solid technical foundation is essential for long-term athletic success. To develop well-rounded athletes, she incorporates extensive off-ice training, including classical ballet, jazz, targeted jump training, strength conditioning, and flexibility stretching. This comprehensive system ensures safe progression, injury prevention, and refined musicality.
